Please read the comments below from Dr. Billye Brim, regarding Rev. Joe Jordan:
January 2005
Dear Fellow Ministers in His Service,
In the early 80s I was made to know by a dream/vision that at the last of this age we would see the operation of the five-fold ministry gifts and of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit as we’d never before seen them. The gifts operating fully as God had designed them to would adorn the Church for the last days of her earth walk in gloriousness.
We preachers must know how to flow with the Holy Spirit as well as to teach the Word of God.
Reverend and Mrs. J. R. Goodwin
In 2004 we had a unique meeting at Prayer Mountain in the Ozarks. At the Lord’s leading we invited Reverend Joe Jordan for what proved to be a marvelous demonstration of how to flow with the Holy Ghost. Of course, we knew Brother Jordan’s ministry to be accurate for he was taught by the best, the late Reverend and Mrs. J. R. Goodwin.
I first met the Goodwins in April 1967 when they ministered with Brother Kenneth E. Hagin in a week’s seminar on the Holy Spirit. (I received the baptism with the Holy Spirit that week.) Through the years I often sat under their ministry. I helped them write four books on the Holy Spirit and His gifts.
Many times I’ve heard Brother Hagin say that in no other church did he see the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as in theirs—nor could he operate in the ministry of the prophet on a higher level than in their church. When he traveled 95% of the time, Brother Hagin often drove 500 miles out of the way to pray with them. He said the Goodwins had the greatest Ministry of Tongues and Interpretation of any he’d ever met.
The late Reverend Howard Carter, among the first in the 20th Century to bring forth scriptural teaching on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, was widely recognized as a leading authority on the subject. He ministered at the Goodwin’s church several times and said, “It is the greatest move of the Holy Spirit with the greatest order of any church I’ve seen world wide.”
Joe Jordan was a staff member of the Goodwin’s church. Later while traveling in full-time ministry, the Jordans lived in Pasadena, Texas to remain under the mentoring and in close fellowship with the Goodwins.
Joe said, “When Dad Goodwin asked me to be on his staff in 1957, I did not realize I was entering, as I would now label it, the University of the Holy Spirit—both undergraduate and graduate school.
